Copper Patina : The Scupper is made of raw copper and then given a beautiful patina finish. Due to it’s natural properties, copper will patina over time.
Stainless Steel: The Scupper is made of 316 Marine Grade Brushed Stainless Steel.

Will this Leach copper into my pool?
These copper scuppers are open to the elements and will patina overtime. Patina- is the natural process Copper material goes through when exposed to elements. It is possible to remove the patina bring back the original shine on your copper scupper by cleaning and polishing it. Many home remedies such as a mixture of lemon and baking soda solution or store-bought Copper cleaning solutions may be used to regularly clean it.
To answer the question if the patina will stain the stain the tile or swimming pool it is important to note that the scuppers design meant to have the water drip on the edges when the water is on but not run underneath the scupper. Thus, if properly installed, when the water flow is turned off water should not drip on to the wall.
